Most well known books by Shel Silverstein

I have chosen these books to list on my website because they are the most popular of Shel Silverstein's works.  Shel Silverstein touched the hearts of many people with his poetry books.  The books are full of silly poems such as: the one about Sarah Cynthia Stout Who Would Not Take The Garbage Out.  Another poem that will keep you laughing is called Warning; it’s a humorous tale about what can happen when you put your finger in your nose.

Children will remember the heartwarming story, The Missing Piece, about a circle that goes in search of its missing piece, only to realize that he has so much fun looking for it he really didn't need it.  In his first book, The Giving Tree, a story about a tree that gives itself to a boy, children will learn about unconditional love.

Shel’s last book took 20 years to put together and is about a little rabbit that speaks a funny language, called spoonerisms.  Kids and adults alike will have fun trying to figure out how to read these poems.  Shel Silverstein will always be loved and remembered for his extraordinary books and sometimes off-the-wall poems.
