Introduction I have read many Mother Goose poems but have never heard of this one. It would be a great opening poem to introduce
children to the various types of Mother Goose poems. While looking through various poem books I found a couple different
versions of this poem. Extension Explain to children that there are many Mother Goose Poems that have been written. Gather a variety of books with Mother
Goose poems. Allow the children to select one poem and see if they can find a different version of it in a different book.
Make a Venn diagram and compare same and different. The children can make an anthology of poems and add the Mother Goose poem
to their collection. Make sure they illustrate it. For older children this is
a good poem to introduce the Quatrain pattern ABAB. Enter supporting content here |
